About the Patient Participation Group

We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.

To help us with this, we are setting up a virtual patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.

If you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email please complete the online sign-up form

We will be in touch shortly after we receive your form. Please note that no medical information or questions will be responded to.

Many thanks for your assistance

PPG Newsletter: December 2022

General

We hope this finds you well, we have not sent a newsletter for some time as we were in the process of having a joint PPG group with the other practices in the PCN. Some of you may have attended the meeting earlier in the year.

Unfortunately this is not viable and the five practices will now carry on with their own PPG .

The past couple of years have been very trying for all, we hope COVID will no longer have the impact it once had. There will always be challenges in the NHS and the one that is having the most impact at the current time, is staff shortages. This ranges from clinical to admin, consequently this is putting extreme pressure on the existing staff. We would appreciate your forbearance as we try to maintain  services.

Changes To The Practice

Doctor Link has been decommissioned and will not be available from 31.12.22. Patients can use Patient Access to book on line appointments, please go onto the practice website.

The practice website is being re-vamped and updated in January 2023 this will keep patients fully informed to any changes in the practice and NHS as a whole.

January 2023 we are having a cloud based telephone system installed this will give the practice unlimited lines and inform patients were they are in the queue.

Practice Staff

We are pleased to say that as from February 2023 we will have two new doctors joining the practice they are Dr Emily Adams & Dr Mousa Abdulahad both are local GP’s.

This past year we have had quite a few staff changes Dr Jon Williams relocated back to Yorkshire, Dr Naeem Gurmani emigrated to Canada. Liz Waters our practice nurse for some years, retired from General Practice. The practice has employed two part time HCA’s . Two receptionist/admin staff have left, one retired the other left due to bereavement. The practice has employed two more receptionist/admin staff and another receptionist is joining the practice in early January.

The practice has a social prescriber, Margaret who can help patients with completing forms, directing to befriending services and generally putting patient’s in touch with social support. Just ask the reception staff and they will put you down for a call back with Margaret. The practice also has an  in house physio therapist and pharmacist.

Clinical

Keep warm this winter, heating your home to 18C, have regular hot drinks & meals. Remember you can call your local pharmacist for advice if you are feeing unwell or 111.

We would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas & a healthy 2023.
